Westfield San Francisco Centre Tree Lighting

Aligning with their new seasonal campaign “The Place to Holiday,” Westfield San Francisco Centre retained DPEM to reimagine their Under the Dome Tree Lighting event into a holiday destination that was inclusive for the larger San Francisco community, from locals and visitors to children and adults. At the heart of the event was a 50 foot inverted Christmas tree, under which guests enjoyed holiday performances by the San Francisco Ballet and the cast of The Kind and I. TAP 415 debuted their pop-up café concept at the event, serving guests sumptuous treats and drinks. The event promoted Westfield’s Winter Nights Holiday Bazaar that showcased unique local artisans selling gifts and crafts, further activating the space and bringing in holiday shoppers to solidify Westfield as the place to holiday.

DPEM was responsible for vendor management and solicitation, stage programming, food and beverage, staffing, and on-site execution.

Benefit Cosmetics Holiday Party

Partnering with Benefit Cosmetics to transform their annual holiday party into an immersive brand experience for their employees, DPEM created an 80’s prom themed celebration with over-the-top décor and entertainment.  The Terra Gallery was converted into “Benefit High” with custom fabricated locker displays, staff yearbook photos, gym floor decals, throwback board games, and elevated cafeteria-style food. Playful “Benetized” décor paired with guests dressed in theme, created a saturated brand experience that deepened the bond between the company and it’s team. DPEM managed event conception and design, venue solicitation, food and beverage, décor and rentals, entertainment and activities, and on-site logistics.

An Insider’s Look: Life at DPEM

At DPEM no two days are alike, and that’s how we like it.  We thrive in a dynamic environment that allows us to produce a wide range of events with a variety of clients, pushing our creativity daily and crafting the best experience to realize each client’s vision. Everyday is an adventure, and we thought it would be fun to take a peek inside life at DPEM from our team’s perspective.

Question1

“The people! We have a fun group of people in the office with many different personalities. Our contractors are amazing too. I always know that once I get on-site at an event there will be no shortage of laughter.”  - Katie

“We’re surrounded by a great group of people who are all hard-working and passionate. Creativity and professional growth are encouraged on a daily basis, and office’s flexibility allows me to still focus on me.”  - Lindsay

Question2

“Creative. Driven. Thoughtful. Bright. Positive.”  - Quinn

“Focused. Friendly. Energetic. Organized. Take-charge!” – Anneka

“Hard-working. Spunky. Fun. Professional. Friendly.”  - Michelle

“Funny. Creative. Kind. Smart. Full-of-Life (counts as one word if there are hyphens, right?)”  - Lindsay

 Question3

“Work from home days! Nothing beats taking care of business in your pajamas, on your couch, and with a cup of coffee!”  - Anneka

“We get 2 weeks off over the holidays!”  - Megan

“I love that we are encouraged to pursue what inspires us with the support of DPEM. Whether it’s a class I want to take for professional growth, or an exhibition I want to see for creative growth, I always have the full support of my manager to seek out developmental opportunities.”  - Lindsay

Question4

“The terrarium making event at Flora Grubb! It was really fun to get my hands dirty with the team and be creative.”  - Katie

“Our team trip to the Exploratorium’s ‘Transform the Night’ was a blast. We are usually on the production side of events, so it was wonderful to walk around and enjoy the larger than life entertainers, vendors, and caterers ourselves.”  - Anneka

“Hard to choose! I loved going to the Oscar de la Renta exhibit. Not only were his iconic pieces incredible, but the experience of walking through his story made me think about events in a new way – both from the perspective of design, but also how we tell our clients’ stories through our events. The whole thing was completely immersive and super inspiring.”  - Lindsay

Question5
“The Benefit Cosmetics 40th Anniversary Party. Rarely do we get to go wild with décor but Benefit Cosmetics is always on board. It was extremely fun to come up with creative ideas with them and buy every kind of pink décor imaginable. The possibilities were endless and it was so fun to be a part of it!”  - Katie

“I’m most proud of producing the San Francisco Street Food Festival.”  - Megan

Question6
“Because DPEM is a boutique firm, I was able to grow into new positions and was given opportunities to work on a variety of events.  By having ownership of projects, I got hands-on experience with all aspects of events.”  - Megan

“I’ve grown a lot professionally and personally. We plan extremely large events, and while I’d produced many events prior to working here, I had not planned any on such a large scale. I’ve learned many new things about event production and what it takes to execute a large-scale event. Throughout the process I’ve gained confidence in myself and become a better producer overall.”  - Katie

“The DPEM team is made up of an inspiring group of self-starters. I constantly feel challenged to take ownership of my own ideas and career.”  - Anneka

Question7

“I like the events that DPEM produces and wanted to get involved. There are a variety of clients to work with and that was a huge draw.”  - Michelle

“For me it was a combination of the people I interviewed with, the size of the company, and the industry.  I came from a more corporate background and wanted to work in a fun creative environment with a smaller team. I enjoy being a part of a close-knit group where I feel like I can really make a positive impact.”  - Quinn

“Great things in business are never done by one person. They’re done by a team of people.”
– Steve Jobs
